Challenge

DRIVE Eyewear is a brand of sunglasses that draws inspiration from the visionary design of Tesla vehicles. The eyewear was skillfully designed by Rochester Optical to capture the intricate details of Tesla car designs.

Our challenge was to differentiate the brand in a highly competitive and saturated eyewear market while appealing to Tesla owners/enthusiasts and set a solid foundation for future management by the internal team.

Challenge

Vine and Villa is a villa-rental business in the Finger Lakes and Adirondacks regions of New York. Offering a wide variety of different homes from cottages to mansions, the business required a strengthened branded presence as it quickly gained popularity.

With the desire of eventual expansion, further branding of individual properties, and connection to its sister company, Lincoln Hills Farms, Vine and Villa required a consistency that would allow it to quickly replicate across multiple touchpoints.

The DRIVE Eyewear logo was designed to be easily recognizable and to mimic Tesla's elegance and visual identity. The logo features a bold, red line that amplifies to create a sense of movement, evoking the exhilarating experience of driving. The brand identity also reflects the power of vision and human energy.

To capture Tesla's unique style in DRIVE, we focused on every aspect of the frame design, drawing inspiration from the product and Tesla's attention to detail.

Our strategy involved highlighting intricate frame details, such as the curvature that mimics Tesla vehicles' shape and the nose bridge that showcases the iconic Model S and X grill.

Our attention to detail extended to brand assets, including packaging boxes and stickers, emphasizing the brand's connection to Tesla and distinctive eyewear features.

ON THE
WEB

We spearheaded the development and design of an exclusive e-commerce website for the brand that specializes in selling the eyewear. The website was built with the primary objective of converting website visitors into purchasers, and to ensure this, we carried out thorough research that included studying heat maps and user behavior recordings, leading to a seamless user experience.

To enhance the user experience, we added a prescription store to our website, providing customers the convenience of ordering customized prescription sunglasses. We also created compelling copy that effectively showcases the brand's unique features, thereby boosting sales and establishing brand recognition.

We custom-built a user-friendly e-commerce store, featuring simplified navigation and a clear call-to-action, ensuring a seamless shopping experience for customers.

Additionally, we created an engaging "About" page that tells the story of DRIVE's founding. Through an interview with the founder, we were able to capture the essence of the brand's creation, highlighting the inspiration behind the unique style and superior quality of the eyewear. This page provides customers with a deeper understanding of the brand's history, allowing them to connect with the brand on a more personal level.

We took a guerrilla-style approach to a series of photoshoots, capturing images in various locations to showcase the connection between the brand and Tesla's sleek design.

The resulting collection of images tells a story of an exhilarating and stylish driving experience that highlights the brand's unique personality and distinct connection to Tesla.
